The Student Art Contest is open for 7-12th grade students who reside with a parent/guardian who is a Southern Pine Electric member.

The contest opens September 16th, and all submissions must be dropped off at one of the five Southern Pine Electric locations by October 18th.

Winners will be selected in three categories: Grades 7-8, Grades 9-10, and Grades 11-12 and a grand prize winner will be selected by a panel of judges not affiliated with Southern Pine Electric.

Category winners will receive a $50 Visa Gift Card, and the grand prize winner will receive $250.

Artwork will be displayed at our annual meeting, held at the Southern Pine Headquarters in Taylorsville, on November 14th.

The winning artists and their artwork will be featured in Today in Mississippi magazine and the artwork will be displayed in the Southern Pine Electric lobby that is closest to the student’s residence for one year

Contest Rules:

  1. Artwork must be original and related to one of the contest themes: bringing the power, power in the people, or electrical safety.
  2. Minimum size of 16” x 20” in landscape or portrait.
  3. Contest entries will be accepted September 16 – October 18, 2024.
  4. The student’s name, school/homeschool, and artwork title must be written or attached to the back of the submission.
  5. Artists may use markers, crayons, colored pencils, watercolors, canvas, paper, acrylic, clay, etc. Use your imagination to make your art come alive!
  6. Submit artwork at any Southern Pine office by on or before October 18th. You will be required to fill out an art submission form upon arrival. No late entries will be accepted.
  7. The contest is limited to one entry per student.
  8. The winner must be available for a photo opportunity and must pick up their prize at the local Southern Pine Electric office.

    Winners will be notified by November 5th.
