WHAT'S AN ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE?
HOW DOES IT HELP ME?

Southern Pine, like other electric cooperatives, was created to bring affordable, reliable electricity to rural areas in the late 1930’s. Electric cooperatives are owned by the members they serve and are not for profit; therefore, they aim to provide the best service at the lowest possible cost.

SUPERIOR SERVICE. DEPENDABLE ENERGY. AT THE LOWEST POSSIBLE PRICE.

Southern Pine provides safe, reliable, and affordable energy at the lowest possible cost for our members. Our dedicated team works every day to bring the power to you.

TODAY IN MISSISSIPPI

Since the Delta Hot Tamale Festival in Greenville happens this month, we decided to take a look at one of the state’s most famous dishes. We visited Doe’s Eat Place in Greenville and Original Solly’s Hot Tamales in Vicksburg. We also talked with the Southern Foodway Alliance about the origin and history of Mississippi tamales. Our coverage also includes a recipe and a list of restaurants that make some of the best tamales in the state.
