WHAT'S AN ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE?
HOW DOES IT HELP ME?

Southern Pine, like other electric cooperatives, was created to bring affordable, reliable electricity to rural areas in the late 1930’s. Electric cooperatives are owned by the members they serve and are not for profit; therefore, they aim to provide the best service at the lowest possible cost.

SUPERIOR SERVICE. DEPENDABLE ENERGY. AT THE LOWEST POSSIBLE PRICE.

Southern Pine provides safe, reliable, and affordable energy at the lowest possible cost for our members. Our dedicated team works every day to bring the power to you.

Our 2022 pole inspection will begin in our North Collins substation area on September 26. Alamon, Inc. has been contracted to inspect the circuits around our Collins service area. These crews will be working six days a week, 10 hours a day, so that they can complete the entire project by the end of the year and will be looking at existing poles to ensure their stability and that they are not in immediate need of being changed out. While conducting the inspection, they will replace missing guy guards and repair any broken grounds.

TODAY IN MISSISSIPPI

This month we visited with Mississippi’s first family of sports writing – The Clevelands. Ace Cleveland, his sons, Rick and Bobby Cleveland, and Rick’s son, Tyler Cleveland have been chronicling Mississippi’s sports stories for decades. Although Ace and Bobby have passed, Rick and Tyler continue the family tradition as part of a sports journalism dynasty.
