Brookhaven artist and OB-GYN physician Dr. J. Kim Sessums is well-known for his public sculptures and works in private collections around the country. His sculptures of Eudora Welty and Billy Graham were parts of those individuals’ personal collections. Sessums also created the African-American Monument at Vicksburg National Military Park and the Mississippi Monument at Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee. We visited with Sessums this month to find out how his dual vocations originated and co-exist today.
